Beschrijving van het ontwerp: De munt is uitgegeven ter gelegenheid van de voor Portugeestalige landen gehouden Spelen. De munt draagt de afbeelding van een gymnast die met een lint zwaait. Bovenaan bevindt zich het zegel van Portugal, samen met de naam van het uitgevende land: 'PORTUGAL'. Onderaan is '2.^os JOGOS DA LUSOFONIA LISBOA' te lezen, met links daarvan de initialen 'INCM' en rechts de naam van de ontwerper 'J. AURÉLIO'. Boven de gymnast wordt het jaar '2009' vermeld. Langs de buitenrand van de munt staan de twaalf sterren van de Europese Unie afgebeeld op een achtergrond van concentrische cirkellijnen.

Description: The coin was issued to mark the games held for Portuguese-speaking countries. It depicts a gymnast swirling a long ribbon. The Portuguese coat of arms appears at the top together with the name of the issuing country ‘PORTUGAL’. At the bottom, the legend ‘2.^os JOGOS DA LUSOFONIA LISBOA’ is inscribed between the initials ‘INCM’ on the left and the artist's name ‘J. AURÉLIO’ on the right. The year ‘2009’ appears above the gymnast. The coin's outer ring shows the 12 stars of the European Union on a background of concentric circular lines.
