Te gedenken gebeurtenis: 1150ste verjaardag van het begin van de missie van Constantijn en Methodius in Groot-Moravië
Beschrijving: Het binnenste deel van de munt toont de broers Constantijn (ook bekend als Cyrillus) en Methodius van Thessalonica aan weerszijden van het symbolische dubbelkruis dat op drie heuvels rust. Het kruis wordt bovendien vastgehouden als een bisschopsstaf, een combinatie van de symbolen van staat en christendom die het belang benadrukt van de missie van de twee broers, die bijdroeg aan de volledige soevereiniteit en legitimiteit van Groot-Moravië, de eerste Slavische staat in Midden-Europa. Constantijn houdt een boek op, dat staat voor onderwijs en geloof; Methodius is afgebeeld met een kerkgebouw, als symbool voor het geloof en het institutioneel christendom. Langs de onderrand van het binnenste deel van de munt staan, tussen scheidingstekens, de naam van het uitgevende land, “SLOVENSKO”, en de jaartallen "863" en "2013". Langs de bovenrand van het binnenste deel van de munt staan de namen “KONŠTANTÍN” en “METOD”. De gestileerde initialen 'mh' (van de ontwerper, Miroslav Hric) staan direct links van de broers, direct rechts van hen staat het muntteken van de munt van Kremnica (de letters "MK" tussen twee muntstempels).
Langs de buitenrand van de munt zijn de twaalf sterren van de Europese Unie afgebeeld.

Description: The inner part of the coin features the Thessalonian brothers Constantine and Methodius on either side of the symbolic double cross standing on three hills. The cross is moreover held like a Bishop’s crozier, thereby bringing together the symbols of statehood and Christianity, and emphasising the significance of the brothers’ mission, which helped ensure the full sovereignty and legitimacy of Great Moravia — the first Slav state in central Europe. The figure of Constantine is holding a book that represents education and faith, while Methodius is shown with a church to symbolise faith and institutional Christianity. Inscribed along the bottom edge of the inner part of the coin is the name of the issuing country, “SLOVENSKO”, as well as the years “863” and “2013”, all separated by a dash. Along the upper edge of the inner part are the names “KONŠTANTÍN” and “METOD”. Inscribed immediately to the left of the brothers are the stylised letters “mh” (the initials of the designer, Miroslav Hric), while the mint mark of Kremnica Mint (composed of the letters “MK” between two dies) is shown immediately to their right.
The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European Union.
