Obverse
This banknote represents the achievement and culmination of the historical process of Mexico's Independence.
The motif of the composition consists of a fragment of the artwork titled "Solemne y pacífica entrada del Ejército de las Tres Garantías a la Ciudad de México el día 27 de septiembre del memorable año de 1821” (Solemn and peaceful entrance of the Army of the Three Guarantees to Mexico City on September 27th of the memorable year 1821), of anonymous author and which is part of the collection of the National Museum of History, Chapultepec Castle, located in Mexico City.
Reverse
The mangrove ecosystem is represented with the Mexican crocodile and the chocolate heron in the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, in the state of Quintana Roo, a World Natural Heritage Site.
